9th May 2014 was our 200th Meeting as a Lodge. It proved to be an excellent evening with some nice touches that not only made the meeting, but will have an impact on us moving forward in the future. We were also honoured with many guests including the Master from the 100th Meeting – W Bro Bill Thomas.

The meeting started with the reading of the minutes from our 100th Meeting from back in 1994 – it certainly was interesting to hear what the brethren were getting up to all those years ago. It was also nice to spare a thought for the brethren who were with us at that meeting but are unfortunately no longer with us.

W Bro Bill Thomas then presented the current Master – W Bro Matt Garnham with a signed book – this was signed by every member who attended the 100th Meeting and the current Master was instructed in no uncertain terms that he was to look after this and present it to the Master at the 300th meeting..2034!

W Bro John Ryan then presented a new Worshipful Master’s Collar to the Lodge with all past and the present Masters’ names engraved which will be a reminder of Masters past upholding the tradition and history of the Lodge for a further 200+ meetings.

We were due to carry out a 2nd degree ceremony for Penn & Tylers Green, however the chap unfortunately fell ill at short notice so our very own Roger Page stepped up to the plate to be passed (yet again!) and Jeff Price stood in as Chaplain.

The meeting finished with notice that we were to have a candidate for initiation at the next meeting which is of course excellent news.

All in all the meeting went well and all the brethren then enjoyed a firing glass demonstration during the festive board by our Visiting Officer – W Bro Dave Gardner.
