Behind the apron - Ashley Dunnicliffe

Looking behind the apron, Ashley is a Level 4 Master Personal Trainer in Corrective exercise and runs a business called AD Health and Fitness. After leaving the Army in 2008, he carried on with his interest in health and fitness formed his business acquiring many qualifications including a master personal trainer qualification, level 4 in cardiac prevention and rehabilitation, lower back pain management, sports massage therapy and a level 5 in education and training, becoming one of the most highly qualified personal trainers in the country.

Freemasonry has helped Ashley by allowing him to develop his confidence in conversations- "I struggled to engage in conversations with other people or contribute to a group conversation, Freemasonry has enabled me to develop these skills and be more confident in and around large groups of people".

Ashley has a thirst for learning in all aspects of my life, so has embarked on a journey to gain as much knowledge as he can to deliver the best possible information he can to his clients. Freemasonry has provided a whole new world of historical facts and information that Ashley has taken to, allowing him to excel in his lodge and in masonry as part of a demonstration team.

Ashley's favourite aspect of Freemasonry is the working in the lodge room. Ashley has only been a member for over a year and has already delivered long pieces such as the charge to the initiate at an exemplary level as an EA.

Ashley claims- "I struggled to speak in front of people, whether that be a speech or a lecture." But you would not be able to tell. Freemasonry has allowed him to develop his public speaking to deliver pieces far beyond what is expected for a mason at this stage of his masonic career.

Freemasonry provides you with an opportunity to challenge yourself and gain an amazing sense of satisfaction after successfully performing something to large audiences as Ashley has.
